Function of the wishbone
A wishbone is often used in two-lane vehicles. The wishbone is a part of the wheel suspension that is included in these vehicles. However, their efficiency is even more extensive. It is a vertically vibrating rod, that swings towars the driving direction within the coupling mechanism. On each end of the rod is a knuckle. Through this the connection of the wheel carrier to the vehicle body is made.
Where is the wishbone located?
Furthermore, the use of wishbones takes place within independent suspensions. In this case, these are to be found on the front and rear wheels. If double wishbones are given, the suspension includes two A-arms. Up to five simple handlebars can be found in a multi-link suspension. They can be found there in different locations.
What typical wishbone repair kit?
The wishbones are available in different variations and with various extras. The wishbones are usually particularly elaborated. They are available for the top-left and front right. This sometimes leads to the delivery of pre-finished parts. Up to 14 Parts are sometimes in a package. This includes the wishbone set for the front axle and partially track rod ends. These are used on the right and left. As a rule of thumb, nuts and screws are alss included as accessories for the wishbones. Furthermore, stabilizers can be found in the wishbone set. Well-known manufacturers of wishbones and components of the repair kit include BOSCH, FEBI BILSTEIN, SWAG and STARK.
If the wishbone is defective.
A defect in the wishbone is noticeable, if there is noise within the region of the engine. This probably means that the wishbone has been redounded. In this case, it is recommended to dismantle the coupling rods. In most cases the noise will be reduced. Those who are not too experienced in dealing with the motor should consult a workshop and exchange the wishbone there. This is true even if the noise continues. In addition to the wishbones you can find drive shafts, the coupling rods and the stabilizers in our shop. Under "Steering (wishbone, trailing link, diagonal)" you can see how much money wishbones will cost.
