General information about the manufacturer Audi
Along with Mercedes Benz and BMW, Audi is the most important German manufacturers of luxury cars. Audi AG, which belongs to the Volkswagen group, has its headquarters in Ingolstadt in Bavaria with another German production site in Neckarsulm. In addition, vehicles are manufactured in various other countries such as Belgium and Hungary. The company was founded by August Horch in 1909 in Zwickau in Saxony. The entrepreneur had already founded Horch & Cie Motor Car Works about 10 years earlier, but left after a disagreement over the management of the company. Since he could not legally use the name Horch for his new company, he chose to the use the Latin work for “Listen!” Audi. In 1932 Audi merged with DKW, Horch and Wanderer to form the Auto Union AG. The merger with NSU followed in 1969 and in 1985 it was finally renamed Audi AG. During this time, Audi presented its Quattro technology, a permanent four-wheel drive, which became especially famous with the sports coupé Audi Quattro. In 1988, with the V8 model, Audi introduced the first upper class vehicle with all-wheel drive. The model A8, which followed in 1994, is now in the third generation of production since 2010.
When you need Audi spare parts
Thanks to the constantly improving quality and new technologies, many parts in a car will last for the car’s entire lifespan. Nevertheless, to maintain driving performance and comfort, it is important to follow regular maintenance and to take care of the vehicle. Important safety-related parts, which are subject to constant corrosion, ageing and wear, include about the brake system components, especially the pads, hydraulic lines and the brake fluid. Especially worn pads and porous brake hoses should be replaced immediately. On modern vehicles a variety of electrical and electronic components ensure improved handling characteristics and increased comfort. However, just defects of car electrics are frequently responsible for mishaps, function failures or poor engine performance.
